  1. Leeks turned out okay. I think I prefer them sauteed rather than roasted. I must have done something wrong by breaking the leek pieces loose (vs. keeping the layers stacked on top of each other) because it started burning really quickly and I kept having to mix them around every few minutes.

    Mulligatawny soup tasted really overwhelmingly spicy the first day due to the curry, but then mellowed out and tasted quite nice following that. Nevertheless, I don't like that the rice was so overcooked. It's a decent and interesting recipe though not necessarily something I'd be overly eager to repeat.

  2. Bacon and tomato linguine was just okay. Too little topping to pasta ratio (needs to be doubled) and there was no sauce base. I tend to like pasta with lots of tomato sauce, and I'm not a fan of cream sauces or oil-bathed pasta, although it didn't help that I got rid of all the bacon grease before sauteeing everything else. I don't think I would make it again.
