  1. Waffled French Toast turned out better than I thought it would, though will never measure up fully to a real waffle. We used wheat bread and it turned out fine. The specified amount of mix for 4 waffles ending up being enough for 6. Dipping for only 20 seconds still left the toast rather dry. I accidentally left one piece in the batter for a few mins and that was the right texture, so maybe the keep the recommended amount but let each slice soak for longer. We ended up adding more cinnamon to the batter to better counter the wheat taste.

Salad had good dressing - very thick (must be the xanthan gum) with a strong garlic taste. Yogurt was disappointing. After having the Lucerne Bartlett Pear Mangosteen, I've become a huge fan of large chunks of grainy pear in my yogurt - Wallaby only has pear juice concentrate.

  2. Cranberry Spinach Salad was pretty mediocre. Decent dressing, but a salad's gotta be really amazing with inclusions to catch my attention.

  3. Chokladbollar was very good. It came close to the IKEA version, but was still not quite as decadently delicious.

Although I was initially hesitant about the amount of butter, it could have taken more, as I had some difficulty getting the balls to stay together. Balls definitely taste better refrigerated.

I made about 30 balls with the recipe (double the quantity stated), since I wanted to make them smaller so that people could eat it in one bite and thus wouldn't disintegrate in people's hands. 9 people consumed about half the recipe.

    Ingredients
    1 1/2 c quick-cooking oatmeal, grounded fine
    1/4 c sugar
    6 Tbsp butter, softened
    2 Tbsp cocoa powder
    1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
    1 Tbsp coffee
coconut or pearl sugar for rolling in

    Directions
Combine butter, sugar, oats (mind you don't use the instant packets), cocoa powder, vanilla, and coffee. Roll into balls about the size of a meatball. Roll balls in coconut or pearl sugar to decorate. Eat right away, or refrigerate, or freeze if you prefer a harder consistency.

  4. The barley soup was okay - I like barley, but the paprika + curry combo was just a little weird. Not sure if adding the recommended salt, sugar, and Worcestershire sauce would have helped.

I absolutely loved the brown sugar and honey combo on the pork... so tasty!!! I am becoming such a huge fan of pork.

My pumpkin dessert didn't turn out great. When I initially blended everything together, it was so unbelievably yummy. I didn't even need to add any extra sweetener (no stevia). But somewhere along the way, as I was simmering the mixture and adding cornstarch, something f$%#ed up. Seriously. It feels like a chore to eat now. Was it that I used corn starch instead of tapioca starch? The final pudding was definitely in need of some more sweetener. Next time, I would stop after the blending phase - leave good enough alone.
