  1. Mediocre cooking week, all around. Beef stew was a real disappointment after all the effort and steps put in. It reminds me of why I think French cooking can be a little pointless sometimes... all those steps and is it really that much better? At the end of the day, letting natural flavors shine through simply seems to be the best (and most time-efficient) way.
