Buttermilk waffles recipe was a little bland - it either needed more salt or more butter. Texturally, our waffles turned out great.
ReplyDeleteThe creamed oysters were nasty. The jarred oysters were sooo fishy tasting (bought at Swy), and the creamy sauce did not help to mask this.
Les Croes by Alpina Savoie (purchased in a French grocery store) were decent but disappointing. I guess I was expecting something spectacular, but they turned out to be little more than toasted pasta with a chewier, firmer texture and shaped into distinctive ridged curls. The oodles of butter and salt I added did not help to bring out any distinct taste, and once they were paired with other foods, the toastedness could not be detected at all.
